The passing of Grace Randall

It is with sadness we report that Grace has passed away recently after a short illness.

Grace, along with her husband Keith, were Co Founders of the South Downs Harness Club in 1978.  There were around 200 members and they all all received a full and informative monthly Newsletter produced and posted by Grace, which she carried out for many years.

Grace was also Show Secretary of the Members Show held at Hayling Island and the very popular BDS Affiliated Open Show then held at West Dean College with around five rings, with all the classes being very well supported.  She carried on being Secretary for around twenty years.

At this time, Keith had a business making and servicing carriages of which Grace made all the seats, covers, trims, driving aprons, shaft covers etc, she was a gifted seamstress producing work to a high standard, a lot of which is still in use some 40 years later.

Keith and Grace had a chestnut cob named Jamie, they both attended and organised many Social Drives and Rally’s with Jamie who was driven to one of their own built carriages.

Grace was an amazing supporter to all around her and the Club will be forever grateful for all her hard work over the many years she was involved with the SDHC

Our thoughts are with Keith, her daughters Julie and Clare and all her family.  She will be missed.

Grace’s funeral is on Tuesday 14th February 11.30 at The Oaks Crematorium, Havant. PO9 5NA.
All are welcome, family flowers only please.
