SCDC are pleased to be holding their first gateway competition. This will be a qualifier for the BC Championships at Crick in September.

BC Gateway is a competition for newcomers to the sport of carriage driving. A Gateway event is held in a single day, often as part of a bigger Club or National event. Gateway is in 3 parts:

• Compulsory Shapes (dressage)
• Cones
• Four Obstacles

Any carriage, cart or trap can be used, but competitors must pass a safety check before they start. The rules can be found here – BC Gateway (britishcarriagedriving.co.uk)

Along side the formal qualifier event we will have classes for everyone else to enjoy using this format.
