Open Show 2020 Report

The Club were delighted to be invited back to Tismans Farm again this year for another fabulous open show. The sun shone upon very difficult times but a fabulous day was had by all competitors with everyone delighted to be out.

Mr James Lewis was invited to judge and took a generous amount of time to talk to each competitor and study their turnouts. The day brought some new competitors to the show ring, including Andrew Collins with his fabulous traditional cob Rollie to an exercise vehicle. A superb and correct turnout, shown impeccably by Andrew in his very first showing classes, who took wins in all classes entered and were the morning show Champion, with Helen Bridges driving Millquoy Vaada as Reserve.

The lunchtime Concours drive was superbly attended with nearly all show entries coming forward to enjoy the short drive taking in Tismans House and part of the farm to all reconfigure in the show arena. With 8 turnouts all lined up, it proved a hard task for our judge Mr Frank Warrender to make his choice of winners for the Traditional and Non-traditional vehicle sections. Andrew Collins took the Non-traditional section and Heather Watt driving Havenbeech Class Clown, her new traditional turnout, taking the Traditional section with Frank always having an eye for a grey!

The afternoon proved incredibly popular with a good few quality turnouts coming forward for the Open Whip and Private Driving classes. These classes proved a tricky task for Mr James Lewis to make his choice with such quality turnouts forward. The overall afternoon Champion was James Foley driving Rowhill Silver Joker with Paula Woolgar driving Cranford Freddie as Reserve.

Everyone went home with super smiles on their faces and we hope to be able to welcome everyone back to the venue for next years’ show again
