The Event:
A fun event for horses, ponies, and donkeys to show off their training skills. All the classes
will be judged 80% for training & manners & 20% for neatness and workman likeness of
their presentation. Ideal for youngsters, the young at heart and those coming back into work for the spring!

Class 1 & 2 – Obedience
The handler will be asked to walk and a very short trot, in a straight line and on a circle. A timed halt and rein back will also be required.

Class 3 – Skills
The skills will be similar to those seen in trec, cones and horse agility. Hard hats and gloves are required by the handler.

Entry Fees:
SCDC Members = £10 per class (or all 3 classes for £25)
Non-members = £12 per class (or all 3 classes for £32)

Entries per class are limited, a waiting list will be held
Class sections will combined depending on numbers

Guidelines for Turnout:

  • Smart dress is accepted only, including gloves
  • Hard hats are required for Class 3 and strongly recommended for other classes
  • Handlers of colts & stallions must be over 16yrs and wear white ribbons on their left arm
  • Open or blinkered bridles; bit-less bridles or smart fitting head-collars / halters are accepted
  • Colts & stallions must wear bitted bridles and must have a white ribbon in their tail

Conditions of Entry for participants

    1. All Participants must provide evidence of valid public liability insurance to take part in this event.
    2. Copies of membership cards and/or insurance certificates must be include with the entry form.
    3. All horses, ponies & donkeys must be at least 2 years old.
    4. Singles and multiples will compete in the same class.
    5. Junior Handlers must be at least 10yrs old with a competent adult accompanying them.
    6. Hard hats conforming to the current UK standards to be worn in Class 3 and advised for all classes
    7. Participants should satisfy themselves that the condition of their clothing, harness and other equipment is adequate to meet the needs of the event.
    8. All accidents must be reported to the Event Secretary, organiser or other event official at the time of occurrence.
    9. Horse, ponies & donkeys must have had a flu vaccination within the last 12 months and no less than 7 days before the event.
    10. Lunging is NOT permitted on the showground.
    11. All litter is to be taken home.
    12. Participants who withdraw before the closing date will not be charged. Refunds after the closing date will be at the organiser’s discretion. In the event of cancellation by the club, entries will be refunded after any costs have been met.

By completing the entry form the participant understands and agrees that this data can be used for the publication of event reports, results of the event in the paper and electronic media, including photographs taken at the event.
