27th to 30th August 2021

Tenantry Farm, Fordingbridge, SP6 3PA, by kind permission of Rob McLeod

For our members and friends, the SCDC club are offering a low-key, stress-free weekend for practice, training, fun and socialising. The weekend will have something for everyone – whether they have been able to keep their horses fit and are taking part in the driving trials this summer or starting to build up for the indoor season in October or simply enjoying being back driving or riding or working their horses / ponies / donkeys again.

Camping and stabling will be available for the weekend; however we fully support those that would prefer to just visit for the day (or several days). We also welcome those that want to camp without a horse or want to bring a riding horse instead of driving. The weekend is open to members and non-members of the club.

FACILITIES
The campsite is at the ‘dairy farm’, with a flat camping field and (very posh) portable stabling in the paddock next door. Horses are not to be penned or side stabled in the camping field. There are large open barns which will be used for socially distanced socialising. There are ample toilets and an emptying point for those with their own chemical toilets. There will be showers and several hand washing stations. The health & safety risk assessments which include Covid secure practices will be available ahead of the weekend.

Day visitors and campers will have access to all of the following facilities to use as often as they choose throughout the weekend.

  • 7 miles of driving (or riding) around the farm, there are short cuts and loops which can shorten or lengthen the route. The driving is not too hard for the less fit, there is one section of hill-work, the rest is undulating.
  • Two dressage arenas will be set up – probably 100m x 40m and 80m x 40m. These can be ‘booked’ to guarantee uninterrupted time to practice your test.

Please note that although there will be first aiders on site, we will not have a paramedic. The obstacles are used at the drivers own risk, speed should be kept to a minimum when practicing.
